Networking skills for new leaders
A short course dedicated to helping new leaders
improve their key networking skills.

The Challenge

My client identified that her team of newly promoted leaders were gaining little value from attending industry networking events. After completing some needs analysis work, we identified the root cause as a lack of soft skills required to effectively network.
The Solution

Appealing to the competitive nature of the new leaders, I created an interactive learning challenge aimed at building positive networking skills. Through scenario-based challenges, participants identified good (and bad) networking behaviours and uncovered their impact on the value they gained from networking.
The Result

Before the learning intervention, the newly promoted leaders placed a combined value of 4.5 (out of 10) on networking. Following the learning, this value had risen to 7.9 with several participants providing positive anecdotal feedback about leads generated and contacts made at subsequent networking events.
